Statement in Solidarity of the Black Lives Matter Movement
CAIPTC wants to send a clear message about Statement in Solidarity of the Black Lives Matter Movement movement and why. Our organization serves a workforce comprised mostly of women of color who provide an invaluable service that has never been properly respected nor financially compensated.
Americans of African descent have endured a cruel and insidious system of white supremacy in this country for over 400 years. Our society cannot move forward on this current path. Sincere statements of concern and assurances of change are not nearly enough.
Steps must be taken to identify and eliminate systematic racism wherever it exists. Only then will we be able to fully demonstrate the original idea that this country was founded upon - that we are all created equal.
